The ROI of lightness
What’s the ROI of lightness?
When I ask my clients how they feel at the end of a session, "light" is a word that often comes up. In fact, it came up with every client I worked with one day recently.
Interestingly, I also had a conversation about the concept of heaviness with my coaches that same day—and I realized it was something I was feeling too.
But this isn’t the kind of lightness that ignores problems, challenges, or the weight of life. It’s the kind that emerges when you change your relationship with those things and how you approach them. It’s authentic—not toxic, and definitely not escapist.
It got me thinking: What if this lightness is contagious? I felt it. My clients felt it. Together, we co-regulated, and lightness was the result.
Here’s what I’ve noticed about this contagious, authentic lightness—it drives big shifts in:
🪶 Creativity and problem-solving abilities
🪶 Relationships with colleagues and loved ones
🪶 Tolerance for risk and uncertainty (critical for us as entrepreneurs)
🪶 The ability to say “yes” to challenging but valuable opportunities
🪶 Resilience
🪶 Confidence and self-esteem
With changes in these areas, what could happen for you? For your community? Your business? Your legacy?
Take a moment to imagine where you could be six months, a year, or even 10 years from now.
A question I always ask myself when reflecting on the quality of my work is: "Would I pay for this?" After experiencing the profound impact of this lightness over the years, my answer is clear: “Hell yes, more please!”
