When Confidence Meets Liberation: Morning Ritual
Heather’s morning ritual tarot pull featuring the Confidence card and the Devil reversed, marking a moment of self-trust and release.
Leadership starts with care and connection to yourself.
I’m a huge fan of morning rituals, longer ones for spacious weekends and compact ones for days when a lot is in my schedule.
One of my morning rituals is to use evocative imagery to reflect on a random aspect of my life before starting my day. I like to use a tarot set and a color oracle set I bought in Thailand– not to tell the future but to select a thread from the unlimited possibilities that life presents me with each day.
I began my day pulling two cards: Confidence + The Devil (reversed). Confidence is deceptively straightforward: it says you already are enough. But layered with The Devil reversed, it offers something richer: you are breaking free.
When The Devil turns on its head, the chains around old stories, compulsions, self‑bargains, and limiting contracts begin to loosen. It says: you are not defined by those shadows anymore. The path forward is not about ignoring your past, but reclaiming your creative power over it. And that’s where confidence comes in. Not arrogance, but a grounded trust: “I have the capacity to meet what’s real, to move forward,” the kind of trust that breathes freedom.
A Short Ritual for Releasing Limiting Beliefs and Stories
Here’s a ritual I invite you to try — it’s simple, but it works.
Stillness first
Sit with your spine upright, eyes soft, for just two minutes. Pay attention to your breath. Feel gravity, your weight on the chair or the floor.Name what you want to release.
Say to yourself (silently or voiced): “I am releasing ___.” It might be “self‑doubt,” “a worn pattern,” “a promise I made to stay small.”Name what you want to reclaim.
Offer the companion: “I am reclaiming ___.” Perhaps trust, presence, creative courage, or your voice.Write it down.
In a journaling format of your choice, write: “Today I choose to ___.” Let it be a small, fierce intention.Move your body.
This could be a walk, a stretch, shaking out your limbs — just enough to shift energy and ground you.
In doing this, you begin your day with clarity, presence, and choice. You say to yourself: I will be active. I will be focused. I will meet what comes today with intention and centeredness.
The Heart of This Ritual
This balance between confidence and liberation is an invitation to integrity. Courage is a great first step, and then we must act aligned. There might be moments today when fear or habit rise, but this reading is a guide: you have access to your sovereignty. You can notice the pull of old patterns, bow to what was once necessary, but not let them steer your day.
Confidence is the steady light that doesn’t flicker when storms come. Use it. Speak it. Trust it. Let it carry you. And each time you remember who you are, your day becomes a field of possibility, not a battleground.
Ritual Words
“I unbind what no longer serves me. I walk forward anchored in myself, fueled by presence and courage.”
